One week ago was Christmas Eve. In the coming days the 2017 holiday season will come to a close. The decorations will come down, the students will return to school, the figgy pudding will have been eaten and the Christmas music will stop. We will settle back into our normal rhythms of life. With this in mind I would ask each of us to consider this question. Has this year’s celebration of Christmas brought any lasting impact to my life? What will I take away from the messages, music, plays, and programs that have centered upon the true meaning of Christmas? This week is a summary message about the true meaning of Christmas. We are turning to what on the surface appears to be an unlikely Christmas passage of scripture, 2 Corinthians 8:9.
